“Fug-ged-a-bou-dit”

Whoever made us laugh or cry

Launch those bastards in to the sky

Scrub away every memory

That leaf that drifted from the tree…

That settled on your pretty head

Throw them with the rest under the bed

Take away our moments together

Lock them in the basement forever

With tall walls to forestall

Block our insidious recall

Burn the pages of our heart

Every snicker, every fart

The names we forged, the numbers too… and for

Shut them behind the door

Hide our skills under the rug

Until there’s nothing left to tug

Knowledge too! Yes why not!

All those silly books and thoughts.

“History.” “How to tie your shoe?”

Wrap them in a bundle – toss ’em in the lake

Who needs them now with nothing at stake

Now you know nothing is near

Let us forget why

we

were

her
